The Mojito

Invented in Cuba using local ingredients, the Mojito has been a staple of Havana nightlife for decades. Crisp and light, the perfect Mojito needs a balance of ingredients and an energetic muddler to create its signature balance of sweet, tart and cool.

Ingredients

  • 5 to 7 mint leaves, torn
  • 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1-3 tsp white sugar (to taste)
  • 1 1/2 oz Barcardi White rum
  • Mint Sprig for garnish
  • Ice
  • Soda Water

Directions

In a tall glass, add mint leaves; lime juice (add the squeezed section to the drink) and sugar. Muddle until the sugar has dissolved. Fill the glass with ice and add rum. Top with soda water and stir to mix. Garnish with a mint sprig.
