Mulled Wine

Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 mL) good quality red wine (full-bodied is best)
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) fresh grated nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks, 3" (8 cm) in length
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) sugar (or to taste)
Directions
Combine the wine, lemon, orange, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon sticks in a 4-quart slow cooker.
Cover and heat on high for 1 to 2 hours or until hot. Add sugar to taste and stir until dissolved, then turn to low. Serve in mugs.
